As I write this on Fri­day, Ap­ril 11, 2025, there are on­ly two days left un­til elec­ti­on day. No can­di­da­te and no par­ty yet knows how the elec­ti­on will turn out, but eve­ry­o­ne is doing their best to en­su­re the best pos­sib­le out­co­me. You see cheer­ful and ac­ti­ve can­di­da­tes cam­paig­ning at town squ­a­res and train sta­ti­ons, out­si­de sto­res, in lib­ra­ries, and at va­ri­ous events. There is laugh­ter and joy, and you can see that hap­py, ex­pec­tant spark­le in eve­ry­o­ne’s ey­es.

And this is exact­ly how elec­ti­ons should be! Cam­paig­ning is truly en­jo­yab­le, be­cau­se you meet many lo­cal re­si­dents as well as can­di­da­tes from yo­ur own and ot­her par­ties. And there is a sha­red goal: to build a bet­ter to­mor­row to­get­her, a bet­ter Kirk­ko­num­mi. For a short pe­ri­od of time, pe­op­le give their time and ener­gy to gain vi­si­bi­li­ty in news­pa­pers, through pos­ters, fly­ers, and events.

Re­gard­less of the out­co­me, I would like to per­so­nal­ly ex­tend a he­art­felt thank you to all can­di­da­tes who par­ti­ci­pa­ted. No mat­ter the par­ty, yo­ur ef­fort and de­di­ca­ti­on have been a joy to wit­ness and be a part of. I al­so want to thank eve­ry­o­ne who sup­por­ted and hel­ped in the cam­paigns - wit­hout you, the can­di­da­tes would have been much more stres­sed. And fi­nal­ly, I warm­ly thank all the re­si­dents who took part in the 2025 elec­ti­ons and ho­pe­ful­ly al­so cast their vote.

Thank you so much. Now all we can do is wait and see, the elec­ti­on re­sults will be out the day af­ter to­mor­row.
