KIRK­KO­NUM­MI

A main wa­ter pipe has bro­ken in the town cent­re of Kirk­ko­num­mi. The dis­rup­ti­on cau­sed by the bre­a­ka­ge is af­fec­ting wa­ter dist­ri­bu­ti­on in the town cent­re, its sur­roun­ding are­as, and the sout­hern parts of the net­work.

Wa­ter dist­ri­bu­ti­on has been par­ti­al­ly res­to­red, but wa­ter pres­su­re re­mains low in some parts of the dist­ri­bu­ti­on area. The tap wa­ter may ap­pe­ar clou­dy and con­tain air.

As a pre­cau­ti­on, the Es­poo Re­gi­on En­vi­ron­men­tal He­alth Ser­vi­ces has is­su­ed a boil wa­ter ad­vi­so­ry for the af­fec­ted area on 6 Oc­to­ber 2025. The re­com­men­da­ti­on to boil the wa­ter will be in ef­fect un­til furt­her no­ti­ce.

Tap wa­ter must be boi­led be­fo­re use for drin­king or coo­king. Boil the wa­ter for at le­ast 5 mi­nu­tes. Wa­ter used in cof­fee mac­hi­nes and elect­ric ket­t­les must al­so be boi­led first. Tap wa­ter can be used for was­hing and bat­hing nor­mal­ly, pro­vi­ded it does not have an unu­su­al co­lour or odour.

Tem­po­ra­ry wa­ter dist­ri­bu­ti­on points will be ar­ran­ged at the fol­lo­wing lo­ca­ti­ons: Kirk­ko­num­mi Ser­vi­ce Cent­re, the squ­a­re bet­ween the school cent­re in the cent­re of Kirk­ko­num­mi and the po­li­ce sta­ti­on, Ges­ter­byn­to­ri, Bron päi­vä­ko­ti, Nei­don­kal­li­on päi­vä­ko­ti, Ra­val­sin päi­vä­ko­ti, Kant­vi­kin Sale car park and Myl­ly­ky­lä. Ple­a­se bring yo­ur own clean con­tai­ners.

Cont­rol samp­les of the tap wa­ter will be ta­ken af­ter the leak has been re­pai­red. The re­sults will be an­noun­ced on­ce avai­lab­le, es­ti­ma­ted to be on the af­ter­noon of 7 Oc­to­ber 2025.
