A main wa­ter pipe broke in the town cent­re of Kirk­ko­num­mi on 6 Oc­to­ber 2025. The dis­rup­ti­on cau­sed by the bre­a­ka­ge af­fec­ted wa­ter dist­ri­bu­ti­on in the town cent­re, its sur­roun­ding are­as, and the sout­hern parts of the net­work. As a pre­cau­ti­on, the Es­poo Re­gi­on En­vi­ron­men­tal He­alth Ser­vi­ces is­su­ed a boil wa­ter ad­vi­so­ry for the af­fec­ted area on 6 Oc­to­ber 2025.

Wa­ter samp­les were ta­ken from the tap wa­ter on 7 Oc­to­ber 2025 af­ter the re­pair. Ac­cor­ding to the test re­sults, the mic­ro­bi­o­lo­gi­cal qu­a­li­ty of the wa­ter meets the qu­a­li­ty re­qui­re­ments in the en­ti­re af­fec­ted area.

If the tap wa­ter is tur­bid or has some unu­su­al co­lour or odour, you should run the wa­ter un­til it is clear. If the qu­a­li­ty of the wa­ter does not imp­ro­ve af­ter run­ning it for 10 mi­nu­tes, call the Kirk­ko­num­mi Vesi hot­li­ne 09-2967 2275.
